Genoa’s 2024 Art Celebration: Consumers share what art means to them

Jul 8th, 2024

Consumers across the country submitted over 1,600 pieces of original artwork to the Genoa Healthcare® 2024 Art Celebrationand, and in each submission, they shared what art means to them.

Many participants noted that making art is therapeutic and healing in their submissions.  For others, creating art helps them express what they feel. “Art is my emotion,” says Genoa consumer Jane R. of Mason City, Iowa. “Art has given me a life of potential and purpose.”

Many consumers also agreed that creating art helps them relax and feel at peace. When asked what role art plays in her life, Art Celebration participant Sarah K. of Bradford, Pennsylvania, said, “A big part. It really helps to calm me down and helps me to focus on the good.”

For Valparaiso, Indiana-based Stephanie L., creating art has given her a new perspective on life. “I never thought I’d be able to draw or paint anything great. That was until I started a whole new journey and changed my mindset. Now, I believe I can achieve whatever I set my mind to.”

Genoa will feature select submissions to this year’s Art Celebration on its website, social media, 2025 calendar and more.
