When other doors close, Genoa is open

DR. CURT WENGEL: The Alaska community is really different. We have a lot of people spread over a lot of land. We're one of the only states that will reimburse for using a snowmobile to go and access care to somebody. And so it's just a really different kind of environment. It lends itself to really novel, out of the box thinking in how to solve problems for people.

DR. CURT WENGEL: Having something on site, because I can walk down the hallway and I can now consult with an expert, is a game changer. So when they close, now someone in the community has to pick up that slack. And Genoa really stepped up to the plate.

YUNGA VERCELLINE: Do you have doses that can get you through tonight?

JAYME ROOK: We've taken on a thousand consumers in the last eight weeks. And this team has been incredible, to put the profiles together and to get the medications to patients that were scrambling to find a solution.

YUNGA VERCELLINE: All the assisted living homes in the area, the providers, the families of the patients, we’re so concerned about what's going to happen to them because these services aren't provided by a regular pharmacy. When something like this comes up, that's not the time to back down.

JAYME ROOK: I would say that you have a team of people behind you that care about your health care.

DR. CURT WENGEL When you have someone like Yunga, who's got that passion, her level of commitment to this community, I've never seen anything like it.
