May 25th, 2018

Pepperdine University alumnus and Genoa Healthcare CEO, John Figueroa, recently received the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School Inspired Leadership Award. Each year, the Graziadio School honors students, staff and alumni who enrich the business world through their superior skills and entrepreneurial spirit, while exemplifying integrity, stewardship, courage and compassion.

“John rose to an extraordinary level of leadership for the school, and stepped up during initial conversations about Graziadio’s role in the world of healthcare,” said Gary Mangiofico, Executive Professor of Organizational Theory and Management at the Graziadio School. “John’s leadership led to the development of the annual Future of Healthcare Symposium; he was central to making that happen.”

John recently presented at the 2018 Future of Healthcare Symposium, which featured the theme, “Healthcare Leaders Directing Change” and focused on the key drivers that are innovating and altering the healthcare industry in the United States. His presentation touched on the opioid epidemic as well as innovative efforts in healthcare focused on the Triple Aim of improving health, reducing total cost of care and improving satisfaction.

“It’s John’s passion, his support of the school, and his servant leadership that has inspired us,” said Gary. “John is a leader who is truly best FOR the world.”
